Ian Rodger
"Music had become an obsession, I couldn't wait to get home from school to listen to the radio."

My name is Ian Rodger and have lived in Dunedin most of my life. I have three children and work as a customer services representative for Contact Energy.

By 1967/68 music had become an obsession I couldn't wait to get home from school to listen to the radio with Ian Dickson's big beat on 4ZB. Peter Sinclair's top ten on a Thursday evening and Keith Richardson's top twenty on Friday night.

My interest in music has never waned and I have built up a large collection of mainly vinyl records and cd's.

The opening to the possibility of being on the radio came by pure chance when I rang Owen Rooney about a particular song. Owen asked if I was interested in radio and possibly working as a volunteer broadcaster, I was very excited at this opportunity.

Listen in to Music Sunday 2-6pm, I really look forward to presenting a variety of music Eg: Songs with a colour in the title. blue, red, yellow etc. Top ten or top five from NZ charts through the years and the stories behind the songs.  Who's celebrating a birthday in the music industry and  today in NZ history.

Those key factors is why I love Radio Dunedin.

Here's my youtube link for you to have a listen .... www.youtube.com/sunday2to6
