Ian Rodger
"Music had become an obsession, I couldn't wait to get home from school to listen to the radio."

Ian Rodger has lived in Dunedin most of my life. He has three children and works as a customer services representative for Contact Energy.

By 1967/68 music he had developed an obsession, he couldn't wait to get home from school to listen to the radio with Ian Dickson's big beat on 4ZB, Peter Sinclair's top ten on a Thursday evening and Keith Richardson's top twenty on Friday night.

His interest in music has never waned and he has built up a large collection of vinyl records and cd's.

Ian's first go on the radio came about by pure chance when he rang Owen Rooney about a particular song. Owen asked if he was interested in radio and possibly working as a volunteer broadcaster, the rest they say is history.

Ian not only shares the music, but the stories behind the songs. from the NZ charts through the years or songs with a colour in the title.

Tune in to Radio Dunedin 10am-1pm on Saturdays and then again 2pm-6pm on Sundays to hear Ian Rodger
